I just read this week's Weekly Planet, and found out that one of the guilty pleasures you should indulge in this summer is surfing the 'net for local blogs (about 1/4 the way down). Even better, the writer recommended tommy's own TampaBlogs as your starting point!
Planet staffer Joe Bardi also made note of the Tampa Bay DotMoms, Dis Iz Erica, McG's, Bayciti, and The Legend of Mark Michaels. Joe has his own blog as well. For more local info, you may want to check with Sticks of Fire, too.
If surfing local blogs is a somewhat guilty pleasure, I wonder where they would rank bloggers making updates on a Sunday afternoon...

It was nice that the weekly planet mentioned a few blogs - but I would like to see a full story about tampa blogging, as well as some discussion with the bloggers themselves..i don't think blogs would have a hard time filling a feature story at all.
I saw the story, too. Just the fact that they mentioned it is very cool. I don't think that blogs get enough credit. Some people still don't even know what they are.

Once again, Ms. Fries, I apologize. Everyone go to her bog before she hunts me down and strngs me up for not mentioning her blog in the story.
I'm glad to see people actually read the paper, and have even been visiting the sites I talked about. I'm also glad to have pointed out all the great blogs I missed. I had a limited amount of space and had to squeeze what I could in. Keep the ideas coming.
